Set up Superclerk for Telegram

Create your bot

1. In Telegram, open @BotFather and send /newbot.
2. Choose a display name, then a username that ends in “bot”.
3. Copy the token BotFather sends you. Keep it private: anyone with it can control the bot.

Connect it to Superclerk

1. Sign in to Superclerk at app.superclerk.com/login.
2. Open Integrations and find Telegram.
3. Click Connect and paste the bot token. Superclerk checks it and shows your bot’s @username.

Give the bot to your employee

1. Open Agent in Superclerk.
2. In Communication, click Add communication and choose Telegram.
3. Select your bot, then choose who can reach it:
   • Direct messages: anyone, only the people you list, or off.
   • Groups: any group, only the groups you list, or off.
   • Require mention in shared chats: on by default, so it only answers when mentioned or replied to.
   • Tool approvers: the Telegram users who can approve actions before they run.
4. Save.

Groups

Add the bot to a group and mention it to give it work. By default, Telegram only delivers group messages to a bot when they mention it or reply to it. To let it read every message in a group, turn off privacy mode in @BotFather with /setprivacy and turn off Require mention in Superclerk.

What Superclerk can do in Telegram

• Reply in direct messages and in the groups you allow.
• Send messages, photos and documents, and react to messages.
• Show Approve and Deny buttons to your approvers before a connected tool takes an action.
• Run agent work with the tools you connect in Superclerk.

Data use

Superclerk only receives the messages Telegram delivers to your bot: direct messages, and group messages your settings allow. They are used to provide the replies, drafts and actions you ask for. Superclerk does not use Telegram messages to train or fine-tune foundation models.
